Do you have large memorials or monoliths that have
failed stability testing and are considered unsafe?
In accordance with British Standard BS8415-2018, all memorials in open and closed churchyards and cemeteries must undergo regular assessments by trained professionals every five years. Any unstable or hazardous memorials are then identified and cordoned off to be addressed.
At Melton Memorials, we offer a straightforward, cost-effective solution for the making safe of any oversized memorial or monolith that has been deemed unsafe.
Our specialised
MakeSafe®
measures allow us to safely remove, reinstate (to BS8415-2018 standard) or secure any large, oversized memorial or monolith that has failed stability testing.
Fully compliant with British Standard BS8415-2018, BRAMM (British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons and NAMM (National Association of Monumental Masons) regulations, our team of skilled professionals use a memorial gantry or hoist to slowly and carefully lift and resecure the memorial ensuring it’s both safe and undamaged throughout.
Gantry specifications:
• BS EN 795: 2012 Certified
• Lifting capacity 1000kg
• Lifting strap capacity 2000kg
• Chainblock capacity 1000kg
Melton Memorials MakeSafe® process is meticulous, with appropriate risk assessments, method statements and cordoning measures applied to mitigate risks to the public and grounds staff. All work is covered by our own liability insurance, giving you that extra peace of mind.
